1.14.20 Blood Drive Update

The Red Cross is dealing with a critical nationwide blood shortage. To help offset some of the need, AUCP held a blood drive at our Johnstown location on Tuesday, January 14th, 2019.

Throughout the day, we had 18 potential donors stop by to make their blood donation. Out of the 18, there were 9 successful donations made. That’s an estimated 27 lives saved!

We also had 13 staff volunteers that gave a few hours out of their day to ensure that the day was a success.

Thank you to each person that made a donation and/or volunteered your time. You play an important part in saving lives.

July Blood Drive Update

There is an emergency need for blood across the United States with someone new needing blood every 2 seconds. So, on Monday, July 8th we held a Red Cross Blood Drive in the Community Room at our Johnstown location.

Throughout the day, we had 14 donors, both staff and community members, stop by to make their blood donation. We also had 9 volunteers that gave a few hours out of their day to ensure that the day went smoothly. By the end of the day we had 9 successful blood donations. This means up to 27 peoples lives were impacted! A big “Thank You!” goes out to each person that came out to the drive, we could not have done it without you.

Donate BloodOn Monday, July 8th we will be hosting another Blood Drive at our Johnstown location. Sign up today to receive a free t-shirt. Go to RedCrossBlood.org and search zip code: 15904 and then locate July 8th at Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy.

If you are not able to make it that day, but would still like to donate, you can register to give blood at your local Red Cross and take a selfie while giving your donation. Then, post it on social media using the hashtag #IBleedforAUCP to earn a FREE t-shirt (while supplies last). Donation time frame will start July 8th through August 12th.
