Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy Celebrates the Holiday Season
Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy (AUCP) celebrated the holidays by beginning a Holiday Blessings initiative to help those in their local communities and participants of AUCP.
AUCP was excited to donated Christmas gifts for children, food, and monetary assistance for utilities, equipment and/or rent to help ease financial burdens.
Through a nomination process, four families were recipients of the Holiday Blessings program as AUCP provided the following:
- Family One – Christmas presents for three children under the age of eight and one month’s rent for a new apartment.
- Family Two – two lift batteries were provided to a family with multiple adults with disabilities to assist the need to move heavy batteries to different tracks of the lift system
- Families Three and Four – monetary assistance was provided to alleviate some of the financial burdens of these families’ utility bills.
AUCP was also able to support 25 elderly patients with blankets and socks at the Patriot Skilled Nursing and Personal Care Home.
