Highmark Walk 2020 Announcement

Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy is excited to be participating in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community 2020 on two different dates and locations:

  • Saturday, May 9th, 2020 at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA
  • Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the Altoona Curve Stadium in Altoona, PA

Starting on February 1st we will be kicking off the 2020 Highmark Walk by recruiting walkers, creating teams, and raising funds! 

All monies raised will go toward our Community Fund, used to benefit members of our communities experiencing financial need and sponsor scholarships awarded to high school seniors pursuing college degrees in human services. In previous years fundraising provided assistance to clients with outstanding bills, purchased uninsured medical equipment, car repairs, and holiday toys and clothes for families in our communities. Can we count on your support in 2020?  

Here’s what to do next:

  • Start sharing! Support from outside agencies and individuals is our biggest help when it comes to the Highmark Walk. If you think you’d like to walk with us in 2020, start sharing about the walk with your coworkers, friends, and family to get them excited about joining your team! 
  • Start asking! It’s proven that asking early and frequently is the best way to secure team members and donations. The Highmark Walk offers numerous incentives both during the fundraising campaign and on walk day. AUCP even offers a few incentives when you choose to walk with us! The more team members and funds raised, the higher the chance of being a winner! 
  • Get ready! February 1st kicks-off the 2020 Highmark Walk when you can begin registering your teams and confirming donations. Stay tuned for more updates along the way!

AUCP Continues to grow

UCP Connections to Independence has made the tough decision to no longer provide Service Coordination services to the central part of the state. They have given AUCP the opportunity to merge this portion of their agency services with ours, allowing AUCP to employ their staff and continue participant services. It is with great pride that we will be onboarding 10 of their former service coordinators and about 350 of their former participants.

We are extremely grateful for this opportunity to grow our agency and we look forward to offering our quality services to more participants throughout the state. Current AUCP participants should not expect any changes in their services due to the growth of our agency.

Pennsylvania Service Coordination Merge

Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy and Service Coordination of South of South Central Pennsylvania Merge to Create a Stronger Supports Agency Johnstown, PA – February 2018

Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy (AUCP) is proud to announce that a company-wide merger with Service Coordination of South Central Pennsylvania (SCSCPA). SCSCPA is headquartered in Hanover, PA and focuses its services on York, Adams, Franklin and Fulton Counties. As one, the agency will continue to provide service coordination and and access to Medicaid funded programs to live at-home independently to current and future participants to prepare for the challenges of 2018 and beyond.

AUCP will become the lead name and brand over the next few months with active offices in Johnstown, Duncansville, St. Mary’s, and Monroeville, as well as the present SCSC offices in Hanover and York. Both agencies are confident in the decision to merge companies as it is expected to strengthen participants’ access to in-home services. The mission is to continue to support and increase the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and to advocate for their independence. AUCP Earns National Recognition

ALLEGHENIES UNITED CEREBRAL PALSY EARNS NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR CASE MANAGEMENT – LONG-TERM SERVICES AND SUPPORTS (CM-LTSS)

The National Committee for Quality Assurance has announced that Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy’s (ALUCP) Service Coordination, a provider of services to persons with disabilities and case management, located in Johnstown, PA has received a 3-year Accreditation for its Service Coordination program.

The mission of NCQA is to improve health care for all Americans and much of their work deals with the quality of health plans, practices and clinicians. However, because so many other organizations can directly affect quality, NCQA recently expanded the accreditation process to include Home and Community Based Organizations that manage patients with complex needs. Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy’s CEO, Tammy Rhoades welcomed the opportunity to be an early adopter for the new accreditation process and put her agency to the test. The Case Management – Long-Term Services and Supports Accreditation was earned by Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy for using evidence-based, patient-centered processes that focus on highly coordinated care and long‐term, participative relationships.

NCQA Case Management – Long-Term Services and Supports Accreditation raises the bar in defining quality case management. The 3-year Accreditation awarded to Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy demonstrates their dedication to quality and commitment to providing high quality, and exceptional person-centered care to the individuals they serve.
